Office in a Cloud is on its Way

on August 23, 2012 by Braj Thakur

If you ever dreamed of having your office in the cloud(s), the forces of gravity notwithstanding, those dreams have just come true.

The office we're talking about is Microsoft Office 365. Sprint announced on August 20 that it is bringing 365 to small and medium-sized businesses, as the latest in a series of cloud-centric offerings. All courtesy of the reliable, secure, and powerful Sprint network.

What this will do is allow these customers to boost their productivity and enhance their productivity, internally and externally, while reducing costs. And as a bonus, these cloud-based communications tools are now fully available to mobile users. All the features and functions of the Office suite are now available pretty much anywhere, including email, instant messaging, anti-virus and anti-spam, and collaborative tools such as conferencing and file sharing.

On top of this, Sprint is bundling 365 with value-added and productivity-fueling services that give smaller organizations the kinds of enterprise-class solutions their bigger counterparts enjoy. And as far as mobility is concerned, the fact that Sprint is seamlessly integrating mobility with the cloud "allows companies to extend our reliable and secure networks to their mobile workforces, so they can confidently use hosted services anytime, virtually anywhere and from any device,” in the words of John Dupree, Sprint's Senior VP of Business Sales.

As we mentioned, this is the latest entrant in our as-a-service portfolio, following the recent launch of Sprint Complete Collaboration and the announcement of Infrastructure-as-a-Service, which is coming later this year. And of course, the fact that all of these cloud offerings are being delivered over a network that you can always count on just sweetens the deal.
