on June 02, 2010 by Mark Ivey

Mark your calendar for June 9. You won’t want to miss the annual Enterprise Connect Virtual Event (formerly VoiceCon), where you can interact with exhibitors, sponsors, and fellow attendees in a 3D environment, without leaving your office.

This complimentary event (June 9, from 11 a.m. EST to 5 p.m. EST) includes virtual exhibits and a variety of webinar-style sessions focused on Merging Mobility and UC in the Enterprise. You can visit with industry thought leaders, such as Sprint, learn more about the key issues and trends driving mobile UC, interact with leading technology providers, and network online with other industry professionals attending the virtual event.

Join Zeus Kerravala, Distinguished Research Fellow with Yankee Group, and Danny Bowman, President of Sprint Integrated Solutions Group, from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. EST as they jointly present “Powering Unified Communications with Mobility.” You can also visit Sprint at anytime during the event at its virtual show floor booth.

Kerravala will discuss the trends driving the Anywhere Enterprise and the exponential value derived from Mobile UC. He will also address the benefits of Mobile UC, such as improved collaboration among co-workers and customers, cost savings from seamless roaming, improved end user experience, and the ability for enterprises to better manage and control calls.

Bowman will look at real business examples of Mobile Integration at work. Featuring capabilities from Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, and other Sprint partners, he will address how these industry leaders have come together with Sprint to enable Mobile UC by turning mobile devices into PBX extensions, providing single-number reach, intelligent signaling and routing, and mobile presence, without the need for a client or smartphone.

Bowman will also address how enterprises can extend UC to the mobile workforce through:

-Global MPLS: A virtual private network service offering a secure, robust, and reliable transport network-SIP Trunking: A Session Initiation Protocol service that includes local and long distance services
-Mobile Integration: Extending communications system (PBX) functionality to Sprint phones for mobile employees within the UC environment
