Employees continue to connect their personal mobile devices to corporate networks, and with this follows new behavior. More and more, employees are walking away from their PCs and laptops and huddling around smaller personal devices to collaborate and connect at work. Because of this migration toward mobile devices, mobile threats are accelerating much faster than PC-related ones. Malicious Android apps are the primary concern, as these threats are increasing exponentially.

Great ROI but Slow Uptake is UC Disconnect

Interesting article over at NoJitter, where analyst Michael Finneran reports that the rate of UC adoption appears to have slowed, even as companies are reporting that its ROI exceeds their expectations.

You can read the article in its entirety here, but Finneran has an interesting perspective because he has been in charge of an annual UC survey for a few years, putting him in a good position to note trends.

For instance, three years ago, 30 percent of users reported some deployment of UC. A year and a half later it was 36 percent, but in the latest survey, it was 38 percent. Not exactly Walmart at 12:01 a.m. on Black Friday.More...

Who Says No to Telecommuting Anymore?

We were taken by surprise by the news that Yahoo is apparently turning thumbs down on telecommuting and remote work, and will begin to require everyone to come to the office. If this turns out to be true, there are a lot of Yahoo people who are going to have to make some adjustments.
