on March 11, 2013 by Editor

If you're among the thousands heading to Enterprise Connect in Orlando next week, there will be lots of opportunities to hear Sprint people offer their perspective, on everything from SIP Trunking to mobile Unified Communications.

During the course of the annual conference, five panels – four of them on Monday the 18th – will include Sprint representatives. As you're putting together your must-see Enterprise Connect schedule, here are the sessions that we recommend:

SIP Trunking: Who's Offering What? This 9 a.m. Monday roundtable discussion has a stageful of panelists, including Sprint's own Dimitrios Kioukis, Manager of Converged Solutions Engineering. The focus of this session is how an enterprise can procure the right SIP Trunking services and equipment to make a SIP technology initiative a success.More...

Cellular & WiFi = The New Hybrid?

on November 18, 2011 by Christopher Glenn

For the past decade, enterprises have wanted to see more hybrid phones, those that do both cellular and WiFi. While we have been able to demonstrate this approach ad nauseam in the labs, the challenge has been in providing enterprise-class feature/functionality using the technology. My Sprint EVO does both 3G/4G cellular and WiFi, but while I have had Skype client on this phone for a while, I haven’t used it. Let me remedy that… More...

Dependable Cloud or Commodity?

on September 07, 2011 by Braj Thakur

There’s a school of thought out there that cloud transport can and should be just a commodity. A dumb pipe that gets you to your data or app destination. Then, inside that destination, all the intelligence resides in the software, along with the security and reliability. More...

Building the Highway to the Dependable Cloud

on August 24, 2011 by Braj Thakur

When it comes to the highway to the cloud, it will be paved with partnerships, between ASPs (and other solutions providers) and carriers. Sprint, preferably, but there’s probably room for other carriers, I suppose.

We’re not the only ones with this partnership perspective. This article from CRN makes the point that while there has been a traditional divide between solution providers and carriers, that divide is no longer practical in a world where enterprises simply want to be cloud-connected in the most effective and reliable way possible. Increasingly, this is what customers want and demand. More...

Getting a Better Understanding of the Cloud

on August 15, 2011 by Braj Thakur

Despite growing usage of, and interest in, the cloud, enterprises and even providers are still feeling their way around in this relatively new technology environment. Like explorers in a new and largely unexplored frontier territory, we’re learning as we go, and dispelling mistaken perceptions along the way. More...

4G: It’s More about the Enterprise Applications than the Technology

on June 23, 2011 by Heidi Gigler

Enterprise IT knows it’s coming: the tsunami of wireless data, video, and voice traffic. Cisco forecasts video to dominate IP traffic in the next few years. Today, companies are virtualizing data storage and moving as much of their business to IP as they can to help curtail the data deluge. On top of that, more employees work in a virtual or mobile environment, increasing the need for wireless communication. Enter 4G. More...

4G + Special App = Inspection Time ÷ 2

on June 20, 2011 by Editor

It’s always reassuring when a chef eats what she cooks or an auto worker drives the brand he builds. So when Sprint uses its own technology, you can be sure we believe in it.

For instance, we recently announced how we’re using a 4G mobile application that enables our commercial property inspectors to accomplish their tasks in half the time. A company our size has a lot of properties, as you can imagine. More than 750 facilities, as a matter of fact, and each one has to be inspected annually.More...
